Everyone has had a season for their loved ones and pets in their life when they have to leave this earthly plane and move on.
People often see pets as pets, while others see them as members of their family that have 4 legs and lots of fur.
A kid that never grows up and that can't talk and needs lots of attention but.....patiently waits while you take care of the human kind for their turn.
Your best friend.
Your snuggle buddy, etc.
They make no judgements on you and they love you no matter what.
I had my season with my sweet girl.
She had to leave me this past Thursday (May 10, 2018) .
My heart has been broken.
I would be lying if I said I don't have a hole in my heart.
I am hurting.
She was 13 years old in March. Her health lately has been bad and has gotten worse last week. She took a turn for the worse on Wednesday.
It was a long night. Barely any sleep, we were there for her.... as she was there for us.
Saying goodbye isn't easy.
We always know it's for the best but when face to face with a choice, her love and how much she gave to us, we had to say goodbye.
My husband and I had to make a choice that we never thought we would never ever make.
She is in a better place, my (our) heart will heal one day.
Right now it's still wanting to cry.
I let it cry.
I love her.
This is life.
This is reality.
Shedding the pain and sorrow but always remembering the joy she gave us.
The memories are amazing.
I always hope she felt she had a good life with us.
This is Hatteras.
My little girl.
Rainbow Bridge (Death of a Pet)
There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of all its beautiful colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass. When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. The old and frail animals are young again. Those who were sick, hurt or in pain are made whole again. There is only one thing missing, they are not with their special person who loved them so much on earth. So each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up! The nose twitches! The ears are up! The eyes are staring and this one runs from the group! You have been seen and when you and your special friend meet, you take him in your arms and hug him. He licks and kisses your face again and again - and you look once more into the eyes of your best friend and trusting pet. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together never again to be apart.
