Happy Summer Solstice
Happy National Day of Yoga _/\_
We see it and experience it everyday.
What happens when life throws you a curve ball?
Were you invited or did life demand you to show up?
Is it even yours to begin with?
Life gives us a choice...... most of the time.
We can make decisions based on our needs and wants.
What happens when life forces us to become present? It wasn't our choice.....or was it?
"Oprah says that to wake up, you need to start listening to the whispers in your life. “Life whispers to you all the time,” she says. “Your life is speaking to you all around, from the time you wake up in the morning, in every single experience that’s coming into your personal space.
All of those experiences are speaking to you. They’re telling you something about your life and about your circumstances. “It whispers, and if you don’t get the whisper, the whisper gets louder,” she continues. “If you don’t get the whisper when it gets louder, I call it like a little pebble — a little thump — upside the head... The pebble or the thump upside the head usually [means] it’s gone into a problem.”
If you don’t pay attention to the problem, says Oprah, the pebble then becomes like a brick. “The brick upside your head is a crisis,” she says. “[If] you don’t pay attention to the brick upside your head, the crisis turns into a disaster and the whole house — brick wall — comes falling down."
This invitation or demand life gives us helps us in creating a better you.
We don't see as it is happening since we are consumed with the event life demanded or invited us to.
I have talked to many students over the years and I explain it as a box of tissues.
How many tissues are you willing to keep taking?
Pulling one by one out of the box, each tissue represents the life experience that you are taking on.
Are these tissues really yours? Are these really your experiences or those of others?
Whatever you have in front of you that seems to be a bit difficult, were you given an invitation to life.....to learn or......did life demand you to be present and show up?
This past Saturday life invited me to open my heart again to a new love in my life.
I accepted the invitation (and a huge deep breath) and welcomed Bay to our family.
She will be 4 months on the 27th of June....and every bit of 4 months!
She is a beautiful new joy for my husband and myself ~ we have opened our hearts and home too.
I think I would rather pick the invitation then the demand.
Life made demands from me a month ago and it was hard.
The invitation is more welcoming.
